Macabre Japanese vhs.
Scarce advert for DAIEI Video’s 1986 VHS/Beta debut of Lucio Fulci’s The New York Ripper (ザ・リッパー) (1982). This ad/release is special because it was the first appearance of evidence of possible additional footage of the prostitute’s murder. The level of butchery seen on this ad has yet to seen in any release of the film, even theatrically or the “uncut” releases past and present. DAIEI’s VHS/Beta itself reflects the traditional uncut version.
A buddy at my new job brought these for me yesterday. He has no clue how thrilled I am. The best era! #wrestlingsnob #nowwf #nothingpast89exceptECW #aptermags #oldschool
